In terms of design, balancing machines correspond to the configuration of the rotor being balanced.
These are most often universal machines that can be adapted to the journal diameter and rotor span. If the rotor configuration is non-standard, the machine structure must be adapted, which places it in the special-machine category. Balancing is performed until the residual unbalance recommended by ISO 1940 is achieved. The machine’s operating speed should be selected so that extremely small limiting unbalances can be detected in accordance with the standard.
